I don’t know what my life would be without having Firenze as a personal confidant. I have been back and forth to the Renaissance citta for the past six years. I have been a tourist, vacationer, student, and an au pair. All of these experiences have made me into the person I am today. I have Italian blood so I know it shall never leave my thoughts. There is so much I have learned about myself BECAUSE I had the mindset to make Firenze my second home. I am abnormal and an original being that has never followed the norm. It is the only way to live….
I will be back to Firenze before I know it.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found your blog by total chance tonight. You won’t believe who I am.
Let’s just say you and I have worked and lived much of the same life. Just rewind 20 years and I was YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I would hope the Grossi family would still remember me. I was V’s Au-pair!!!!!!!! I think she was a teen at the time. This is so shocking my knees are knocking. When I read the names and places I almost fainted. Email me as soon as you possibly can. We have so much to talk about!!!!!!!
I have been to Camporseveli and adore Piffi and Elena as much as you seem to.
I still carry Firenze in my heart and soul, I felt everything you are going through now and it is conflicting living in two countries and being so connected to both for different reasons.
For now……..Dance and enjoy. Celebrate your Bravura and you DID accomplish so much.
I didn’t leave speaking fluently either. But I sure had fun trying. It’s still makes for great conversation. Especially at interviews.
I would so love to talk to you, this is crazy!! Someone once said to me – Florence has been around for a long long time and it aint going anywhere soon.Your still young and have time to explore so much. I love the picture of you going to your Tango lesson. How many women can say they speak Italian, lived in Italy and Tango! Ben Fatto Katie.
Isn’t this insane???? Happened for a reason, I’d say. I am from Mass. I will forever carry that year in my heart and one day when it is right I will have a nice long visit. Florence watch out. My kids know as soon as my youngest goes to college I am hoping to rent an apartment and “Viva La Dolce Vita” even if it’s for a few months. I have to make up for lost time. I took driving lessons just like you, so many of the same experiences it’s freaky.
Take Care,
Linda
